Coronavirus: Cuomo Calls on Health Care Workers Worldwide to Join New York Fight

Date: 2020-03-30 18:01:30

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo called on healthcare professionals around the U.S. to come to New York to help fight the surge in coronavirus cases. “If you don’t have a healthcare crisis in your community, please come help us in New York now. We need relief,” he said at a press briefing on Monday at the Javits Center in Manhattan, New York.

A Navy hospital ship with 1,000 beds arrived Monday in New York City as officials pressed for more federal help. Mayor Bill de Blasio said President Donald Trump’s suggestion that thousands of medical masks are disappearing from New York City hospitals is “insulting” to front-line medical workers.
