A giant sinkhole opened up in Naples, Italy, on the morning of Friday, January 8, forcing the evacuation of a COVID-19 residence, local media reported.

This clip, posted on Twitter by Italy’s fire and rescue service Vigili del Fuoco, shows search and rescue teams, including a sniffer dog, examining the sinkhole for any trapped people. The hole was about 35 feet deep, media reported.

The cause of the sinkhole was yet to be identified and no injuries were reported as of Friday.

The COVID-19 facility housed six positive asymptomatic or quarantined residents, La Repubblica said.
