Russia Becomes Second in Coronavirus Cases Worldwide
Date: 2020-05-22 06:08:40
Russia’s coronavirus caseload surpassed 300,000 on Wednesday, second only to the U.S.
New hotspots contributed to the count in infections, such as the North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, one of the hardest hit regions. Medical services have struggled to contain the virus and federal authorities dispatched doctors and medical equipment to the region.
In Moscow, medical workers like Dr Osman Osmanov are tired and working exhaustive hours. The capital is the epicenter of the outbreak and doctors haven’t received enough support, they told the AP. Government officials insist the shortages are isolated and not widespread.
